Description
Kimono Vine Putty from the P Kaufmann Connoisseur Collection is a printed drapery fabric. This is a very large pattern and has a special layout that lends itself to drapery applications only. There are two vines that run up the fabric, one on the left side, the other on the right side of the fabric and repeat every 35.5 inches up the roll. The colors in this print are Green, Light Blush, Taupe, Gold and Grey. The butterflies and the birds are flying about the vine and foliage, adding a nice element to the design. So you can see this is not a layout for upholstered furniture, just drapery applications. A truly beautiful and bold statement.

Railroaded fabrics are simply fabrics that have designs turned "sideways" on the roll. The process was developed to aid furniture manufacturers wishing to cut and sew covers on furniture without seams. Since most fabrics woven are approximately 54" wide, any furniture piece wider than 54" would require seaming two pieces of fabric together. Railroading solves this dilemma, now a cushion piece can be covered without seams no matter what the width. Railroaded fabric is very desirable by designers since they can be more creative. When using a railroaded product for drapery, be aware of the panel size in relation to the design.
