Description
Colony Brittany is a woven high performance indoor/outdoor check upholstery fabric. The repeat of this pattern is 8.5 inches vertical by 9.06 inches horizontal. In addition to very high ultraviolet resistant properties, Colony is rated heavy duty when tested for abrasion. Colors contained in this check fabric are Teal, Coffee, Wine, Rose, Tan and Melon. Even more, in cleaning, a mixture of 1 part bleach with 2 parts water can be used for stubborn stains. This would be an excellent, worry free choice for an upholstery fabric that will have everyday use. Colony can also be used for throw pillow fabric, top of the bed applications and as headboard fabric.

Railroaded fabrics are simply fabrics that have designs turned "sideways" on the roll. The process was developed to aid furniture manufacturers wishing to cut and sew covers on furniture without seams. Since most fabrics woven are approximately 54" wide, any furniture piece wider than 54" would require seaming two pieces of fabric together. Railroading solves this dilemma, now a cushion piece can be covered without seams no matter what the width. Railroaded fabric is very desirable by designers since they can be more creative. When using a railroaded product for drapery, be aware of the panel size in relation to the design.
